I know its been awhile since my last update of any kind, so I'm writing this journal just so you know I'm still, as my AoA characters would say, here in the physical realm.  Also, I do plan on posting the second story in the series soon, I just get distracted very eas....Oh Hey!   A sparkley!!!  :).  Anyway, I really do want to get the series rolling along since I have so many ideas that I want to bring to life in the stories, and I've already planned on a sequel/companion series called "Reign of the Old Order" that I can't go into detail about right now without ruining some of the surprises in "Academy". I'm going to use this first journal entry, ever, to give a quick plot synopsis of my series, 'Academy of Avatars'.  It's a Harry Potter-esque story of a 14-year-old girl, Lily Smith, who attends a school where they learn magic by joining with animal spirits called 'Familiars'.  There she shares a dorm room with another girl, Cleo Rose, and two boys, Daemon Led and Simon Scotts, who are all first year students.  The one major wrinkle in her life there is that, unlike the rest of Lily's adopted family, her father does not like Order of Avatars and initially forbids Lily from attending.  However, with the help of Headmistress Sarah (yes all the
